The bestest way to build a round roof is with reciprocral rafters, each resting on the next one, and since a circle has no end there is no last rafter with nothing to rest on and so fall down. Some folk think it's magic but it's just faerie engineering.
The twelve main rafters are ash, long and strong and plenty of bounce, the smaller poles are hazel, filling in the spaces just like in the living wood.
